Pirros-Revit Troubleshooting Guide

Updated over a week ago

We constantly improve the plugin functionality by pushing new updates. If you encounter any errors when staging details for download, you should check to see if your Revit plugin is running on the latest version.

When you experience an error message or if you download a detail and have a reason to believe that the detail was not downloaded correctly and that there is an issue with functionality, take the following steps mentioned below.

You will need to have admin-level access to your computer to perform these steps. Consult with your IT Department/technician to ensure these steps are completed accurately.

Troubleshooting Guide

  1. Close out of all instances of Revit and ensure the entire application is closed, including any windows/dialogue boxes.

  2. Fully uninstall your Pirros plugin from your computer. To do this:

    • Navigate to Control Panel

    • Click Programs

    • Click Programs and Features

    • Search for the Pirros Plugin application and click on it

    • Click Uninstall

After completing the above steps, make sure there are no lingering install files present in your computer since they can interfere with the new plugin:

  1. Clean out any lingering Pirros-related install files. You can check the following locations on your machine:

    • C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\{YEAR}

    • C:\Users\{USER}\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\{YEAR}

  2. We install for all years 2020 to 2025, so for each year in above locations, delete these two items:

    • The "Pirros" folder

    • The "Pirros.addin" file

    • Re-install Pirros Revit Plugin 2.4.14

  3. Once the above files are uninstalled, reinstall the new Pirros plugin. See the Pirros Plugin Setup Guide.
