Set up a Container File to add Typical Details

Updated over 10 months ago

If you have your typical detail library on ACC or BIM 360, your uploaded Revit model of standard details will automatically sync with your container file. This means your container file will have PirrosIDs for all of the details within it. You will not need to download and rehost the container file from Pirros to ACC/BIM360.

Link your current Typical Detail Library to Pirros

After your typical detail library has been uploaded to Pirros, you need to download the source Revit Model from your Typical Detail Library.

Save the Revit Model to your firm's database so that any changes to be made are made on this file.

The Revit models downloaded from Pirros guarantee that each model detail is assigned a unique Pirros ID.

Build a Typical Detail Library from Scratch

In order to begin building out a typical detail library for your firm, you must first include project details onto your Pirros database. When your detail library is filled with details from multiple projects, Pirros will provide you with typical detail suggestions on which details show up regularly within multiple projects.

Use these suggestions to choose which details should be made Standard. Click into one of the detail copies that is drawn to the utmost standard. Flag this detail and say "Add this detail to Typical Library". Stage for download each flagged detail into a container Revit file.

Make a new Revit project model using a Revit version that makes the most sense for your firm. Log into your Pirros account through the Pirros Revit Plugin. Set the "Project Settings" for Pirros to "Typical Details". Then you can start downloading details into that model.

Download flagged details into this model to update them and make any changes. Then, push these changes onto Pirros to begin populating your Typical Detail Library in a container file as well as on your Pirros Database.
