Sync Details from Revit

Updated over 2 months ago

The details in Pirros are constantly evolving due to code changes, firm protocols, and other updates. Keeping your Standard Library current is seamless—simply update the detail in Revit and sync it back to Pirros. We handle all notifications for you.

So, what does that mean? When you update a detail on Pirros, we automatically email anyone at your firm who has downloaded that detail into an active project within the past year. Additionally, the entire firm receives a weekly summary of updated details, as well as any new details or projects added to the database.

These notifications do not automatically update details within users’ Revit models. Instead, they simply inform users that a detail they previously downloaded for specific projects (X, Y, and Z) has been updated.

To update a detail on Pirros, you must follow these steps:

  1. Open the Revit Model that houses your standard detail library

  2. Find the detail(s) that need updating

  3. Make the update to that detail in Revit

  4. Click Upload, then the SYNC button in the Pirros Plugin Tab

  5. Filter Views to show you all the Recently Changed Views

  6. You may need to toggle on the Show Views Not on Sheets marker so that you see ALL sheeted and un-sheeted details in your library

  7. Select the detail(s) that you just updated

  8. Include a Change Message to tell the entire firm what was changed with this update.

  9. Click Submit to Update those details on the Pirros App

Syncing updates the detail on Pirros with your latest changes, replacing the existing version while preserving the change history. This ensures full transparency, allowing your firm to track all modifications made to the detail library.

Back on Pirros, if you click into that detail's information page, you will find the latest version of the detail updated. If you click into the history tab on the left side of the Detail's image, you will see:

  • What was updated from the previous version

  • Reason for the update

  • Who made the update

  • When they made the update
