Search

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Pirros is a cloud-based detail management system designed specifically for architectural detailing. It enables you to search across all your projects simultaneously—helping you find any detail in under a minute.

At its core is a powerful, purpose-built search engine that surfaces the most relevant detail matches. It indexes key elements such as detail annotations, view names, sheet names, titles on sheets, and text from callouts to deliver precise results.

To search, simply enter a description of the detail you need. You can then click into any result for a closer view of the full detail.

How Search Works

Pirros analyzes each detail’s view name, title on sheet, and in‑detail annotations against your keywords to deliver the most relevant results.

Filters

Detail Filters

Pirros uses filters to help you narrow down search results quickly and accurately. These filters are based on keyword tags, Revit version, asset type, and more.

When you upload details from your previous Revit models, Pirros automatically assigns filters to each detail—such as the Revit version and detail type.

Detail types indicate the format of the detail in Revit, including Drafting Views, Detail Views, and Sheets. Each uploaded detail is automatically categorized based on its original Revit view type.

Project Filters

Pirros lets you refine your search using project-specific parameters, so you can focus on projects with similar conditions and context. This makes it easy to narrow results down to the most relevant details from comparable projects.

Filter search results down to projects:

  • In a certain market sector or location

  • With a specific client or vendor

  • That have the same building material and exterior/interior finish

These parameters are completely customizable in the Settings Project Filters. For firms specializing in single-family residential projects within one region, the project parameters they prioritize differ from those of firms engage in high-rise and large-scale projects globally. You can decide which project parameters matter to your firm and add brand new ones depending on the types of projects your firm designs.

Reference Only

Project administrators on Pirros can make certain projects "reference only" so that team members know they can reference these details, but are unable to reuse them in current and future projects without permission from their manager. When a project is marked as "reference only," admins are the only users who can download the detail files:

The reference only feature enables you to:

  • Find any detailing condition your firm has designed in minutes

  • Reference old projects with unique detailing conditions

  • Provide a controlled environment for reusing project details

  • Eliminate the fear of young architects copying and pasting bad or out of date details without appropriately modifying them.
