Meet Mira: The AI Agent for Revit

What Mira does, how to get started, and how credits work. Mira is an AI agent that lets you learn, control, and create in Revit through natural language.

Mira by Pirros is an AI agent that lives inside Revit. Ask it questions in plain English, tell it to make changes to your model, or have it generate new content for you — Mira understands your selection, executes the work, and verifies the result with a screenshot.

Free to download and use. Mira is free to install and start chatting with. Pricing is usage-based — you only pay for what you use, and you can top up credits whenever you need more.

What Mira Does

Mira is built around three core capabilities — what we call Learn, Control, Create.

Learn. Ask Mira about anything in your model or about Revit itself. "Why is this wall hosting in the wrong location?" "What's the difference between a wall type and a wall family?" "Show me everything connected to this beam." Mira reads your model, your active selection, and Revit's documentation and explains in plain language.

Control. Tell Mira to make changes and it executes them for you. "Duplicate this cabinet type and make it 6 inches taller." "Swap every instance of Wall Type A with Wall Type B on Level 2." "Rename these views to follow the [Discipline]_[Level]_[Name] convention." Mira performs the action, then captures an after-screenshot so you can verify the result before saving.

Create. Generate new content from a description. "Create a kitchen layout with a 36-inch island." "Lay out parking stalls along this path with 9-foot spacing." "Build a typical curtain wall mullion family at this profile." Mira drafts the geometry, places it in your model, and lets you iterate with follow-up instructions.

Getting Started

  1. Click Start for free to download the Mira installer

  2. Run the installer and restart Revit

  3. Open Revit and find the Add-Ins tab — click it to open the menu.

  4. You'll see Mira by Pirros — click it and start chatting.

  5. Sign in with your Pirros account (the same login you use for the main Pirros web app)

If your firm doesn't have a Pirros account yet, you can still create a free Mira account at the same URL.

An Example Conversation

Here's a real interaction to give you a feel for how Mira works:

You: "I have selected 2 base cabinets that are too short for the countertop. Can you duplicate the type and make it taller to be flush with cabinet? Similar to the 36" Type"

Mira: "I'll duplicate the 48" type, set the height to 2'-10 1/2" to match the 36" type, and swap the two selected cabinets to the new type." (executes)

Mira: "The new type was created and both cabinets have been swapped. Let me capture an after image to verify the change." (screenshots the result)

Notice that Mira reads your selection, proposes a plan, executes it, and proves the result. You stay in control — every change is in your active Revit session and you can undo it the same way you'd undo any other Revit action.

Credits and Pricing

Mira is free to install. Usage is metered in credits — each conversation consumes credits based on how much work Mira does (reading your model, generating responses, executing actions, capturing screenshots).

When you sign up, you get a starting credit balance to try Mira out. After that, you can top up credits whenever you'd like more. There's no subscription, no recurring billing — pay for what you use.

  1. In the Mira chat panel, click your avatar in the top-right

  2. Click Credits to see your current balance

  3. Click Add credits to top up

How Mira Stays Safe

A few design choices worth knowing:

  • Mira works in your live Revit session. Every change is something you could have done by hand. You can undo, save, or discard exactly as you would normally.

  • Plan, then execute. For multi-step actions, Mira describes what it's about to do before running it. You can interrupt at any point.

  • After-screenshots. Mira captures a verification image after most changes so you can confirm the result without flipping views.

  • Your data stays yours. Conversations and selections are processed by Mira's AI to respond to your requests. Pirros does not use your model content to train models for other firms.

Tips for Better Results

  • Select first, then ask. Mira reads your active selection, so selecting the elements you want to change before asking gives much better results.

  • Be specific about units. "6 inches taller" is better than "a bit taller." Numeric targets cut down on iteration.

  • Use Mira to learn Revit. If you don't know how something works, ask Mira to explain it. Often faster than searching the documentation.

  • Iterate. If the first result isn't right, follow up with "make it 2 inches shorter" or "do the same for these other 4 cabinets." Mira keeps context within a conversation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need a paid Pirros plan to use Mira?

A: No. Mira is free to download and you only pay for the credits you use. You can also use Mira without a paid Pirros subscription — just sign up at mira.pirros.com.

Q: Which Revit versions are supported?

A: The Mira installer at mira.pirros.com lists the currently supported versions. We support the same Revit versions the Pirros plugin supports.

Q: How are credits priced?

A: Credits are usage-based — simple "Learn" questions cost less than complex multi-step "Control" or "Create" actions, since the latter involves more reading, more model interaction, and screenshot generation. You can see your current balance and per-conversation cost from the Mira chat panel.

Q: What happens if I run out of credits mid-conversation?

A: Mira will pause and prompt you to top up. Your conversation context is preserved — once you add credits, you can continue exactly where you left off.

Q: Can Mira make changes I didn't ask for?

A: No. Mira only executes the actions described in its plan. For anything that touches multiple elements or modifies family types, Mira spells out the plan first so you can confirm or adjust before it runs.

Q: Is my model data sent off my computer?

A: Relevant context (your active selection, view, and the questions you ask) is sent to Mira's AI to generate responses. Your full model is not uploaded. Pirros doesn't use customer model content to train models for other firms.

Q: Does Mira work alongside the regular Pirros plugin?

A: Yes. Mira and the Pirros plugin are separate installs and run independently. You can use both at the same time.

Q: Where do I report a bug or request a feature?

A: Use the chat icon inside Mira or email [email protected]. We log every interaction for quality and use them to improve responses — your feedback directly trains future improvements.
