To share details with team members who don't use Revit — or to create markup sets in Bluebeam — export them as PDFs directly from Pirros.
Color vs Black & White export setting. Admins can now choose whether PDF exports and detail card thumbnails render in color or black & white. Useful for firms that want consistent monochrome output for set submissions, or color thumbnails for browsing.
Where to set it: Settings → Upload → PDF Appearance. The setting applies firm-wide and affects both web-app PDF exports and the new plugin-side PDF export (Black & White option also available there).
Export a Single Detail as PDF
Navigate to the Details page and find the detail you want to export
Click the detail to open the preview
Click Download PDF
The PDF opens in your browser with the detail image and metadata in the footer (in color or black & white per your firm's setting)
Export an Entire Stash as PDF
To create a multi-page PDF containing all details in a stash (useful for cartoon sets and Bluebeam markups):
Navigate to Stashes from the top navigation bar
Open the stash you want to export
Click Export to PDF at the top right
Pirros generates a PDF with one detail per page, in the order they appear in the stash
Download Stash Files as a ZIP
To get the actual Revit (.rvt) files instead of PDFs:
Open the stash
Click the More options (⋮) menu at the top right
Click Export Detail Files
Pirros downloads a ZIP folder containing the individual Revit files
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I override the firm-wide Color/B&W setting per export?
A: Phase 1 ships as a firm-wide admin setting. Per-export overrides may come later — let us know if that's important to you.
Q: Does the Color/B&W setting affect detail thumbnails too?
A: Yes — the same setting applies to detail card thumbnails for visual consistency.
Q: Can I export all pages of a multi-page sheet as one PDF?
A: The PDF export creates one page per detail view. If you need the full sheet, open the sheet view in Pirros and download that as a PDF.
Q: Why does the text look different in the PDF than in Revit?
A: PDF previews are rendered from Pirros's image processing, which may display some fonts differently than Revit. The actual Revit file (.rvt) will render correctly when opened in Revit.
Q: Can I customize the PDF footer?
A: Yes — admins can configure the footer layout in Settings → Display → PDF Footer Layout. You can choose which metadata fields appear.
