Create Stashes

Group details into stashes to save for later, share with colleagues, or batch download into Revit.

To group details together for downloading, sharing, or exporting, create a stash. Stashes let you collect details from across your library into a single set that you can share with colleagues, batch download into Revit, or export as a PDF for markups.

This video walks through creating a stash, adding details, sharing with colleagues, exporting to PDF, downloading stash contents into Revit, and managing stashes (duplicate, archive, delete). The step-by-step text below covers everything in the video.

Create a Stash

  1. Click Stashes in the top navigation bar

The top navigation bar with the Stashes tab highlighted. Click it to open the Stashes page.

  1. Click New Stash at the top right, or click the + icon

The Stashes page showing the New Stash button in the top right and the + icon in the center. Click either to create a new stash.

  1. Type a name in the Stash Name field

The new stash dialog with the Stash Name field. Enter a descriptive name like "Healthcare Foundation Set" or "Project 2024-15 Details."

  1. Click Save Changes

Add Details to a Stash

  1. Click Details in the top navigation bar

  1. Use filters and search to find the details you need. Hover over each detail and click the checkbox to select it

  1. Click the Stash button that appears in the action bar at the top

The action bar showing the Stash button. It appears automatically when you select one or more details. Click it to add the selected details to your active stash.

  1. If you have multiple stashes, select which one to add to from the dropdown

You can also create a stash directly from the Details page:

Active Stash: On the Stashes tab, each stash has an Active Stash toggle. When a stash is active, any details you add go to that stash by default. You can have only one active stash at a time.

The Active Stash toggle column on the Stashes tab. Turn the toggle on next to the stash you want to make active.

Share a Stash with Team Members

  1. Navigate to Stashes and click the stash you want to share

What Happens Next

After creating and sharing a stash, your colleagues receive a notification with a link. They can view the stash contents, stage for download into Revit, or export to PDF. Stash contents stay up to date — if a detail in the stash is updated by an admin, the stash reflects the latest version.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What's the difference between a User Stash and a Firm Stash?

A: User stashes are personal — visible only to you until you share them. Firm stashes are created by admins and visible to everyone in the workspace. See Understanding Stashes: User vs Firm for details.

Q: Can I add details from different projects to the same stash?

A: Yes. A stash can contain details from any project or the typical library — they don't need to come from the same source.

Q: When I click Stage for Download, does it download only the details I selected?

A: No. Stage for Download queues ALL details in the stash, regardless of which ones you've highlighted. It's a batch operation for the entire stash.

Q: Can I stash individual details from a sheet, or does it stash the whole sheet?

A: You can stash individual details. On the Details page, click the three-dot menu on a specific detail card to select it individually rather than selecting the entire sheet.

Q: How many stashes can I create?

A: There is no limit on the number of user stashes you can create.
