To create a pre-built detail set that everyone at your firm can access — like a "Residential Foundation Package" or "Healthcare Starter Set" — create a firm stash. Firm stashes save your team from searching for the same details on every new project.
Prerequisite: You need the Admin role. Only administrators can create or edit firm stashes.
What's a Firm Stash?
A firm stash is a shared collection of details visible to everyone in your workspace. Unlike user stashes (which are personal), firm stashes are persistent — they never auto-archive when downloaded, and everyone can access them without an invite.
How to Create a Firm Stash
Click Stashes in the top navigation bar
The top navigation bar with the Stashes tab. Click it to open the Stashes page.
Click + New Stash
The Stashes page with the + New Stash button in the top right. Click it to begin creating a new stash.
Name the stash and turn on the Firm Stash toggle
The new stash dialog showing the name field and the Firm Stash toggle. Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Residential Window Details") and enable the toggle. The toggle must be on at creation time — it cannot be changed later.
Click Save Changes
The new firm stash appears as your active stash — any details you add next go to this stash by default:
The active stash indicator at the top right of the screen showing your new firm stash is active. Details you stash next are automatically added here.
To switch to a different active stash, click the dropdown arrow:
The active stash dropdown showing all your stashes. Select a different one to change which stash receives new details.
Add Details to the Firm Stash
Click Details in the top navigation and search for the details you want
The Details page with the search bar and filter panel. Search for the details to include in your firm stash.
Select the details and click Stash in the action bar
Selected details with the Stash button visible in the action bar. Click it to add the selected details to your active firm stash.
Copy a User Stash to a Firm Stash
To convert an existing personal stash into a firm stash:
Go to Stashes → User Stashes
The Stashes page showing the User Stashes tab. Click it to see your personal stashes.
Open the stash and click the More options (⋮) menu
A user stash view with the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right. Click it to see management options including Copy to Firm Stashes.
Click Copy to Firm Stashes
The dropdown menu showing Copy to Firm Stashes. Click it to create a firm-wide copy of this personal stash. The original user stash remains unchanged.
User Stashes vs Firm Stashes: User stashes are personal and auto-archive after download. Firm stashes are visible to everyone and never auto-archive. See Understanding Stashes: User vs Firm for the full comparison.
What Happens Next
After creating a firm stash, it appears under the Firm Stashes tab for everyone in the workspace. Team members can browse, stage for download, or export to PDF. Only admins can modify the stash contents.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I forgot to enable the Firm Stash toggle. Can I convert it now?
A: No. The toggle must be enabled at creation time. Create a new firm stash with the toggle on, add the same details, and delete the original user stash.
Q: Can members see firm stashes?
A: Yes. All members in the workspace can view and download from firm stashes. They cannot add, remove, or modify the contents — only admins can do that.
Q: How many firm stashes should my firm have?
A: Keep it manageable — most firms have 3-10 firm stashes organized by project type or construction condition. Include only details that appear in every project of that type.
Q: Will the firm stash update if I update a detail in it?
A: No. If an admin updates a detail that's included in a firm stash, the stash reflects the version that was originally stashed.
