Comparing Details

How to compare details within the Pirros Database

Updated over a month ago

Comparing Previous Versions of Details

When viewing a detail, you can easily compare it with previous versions using color-coded labels that highlight changes. This makes it easy to stay organized and track edits clearly.

The way to get to this page is:

  1. Click to open the Full Detail Page inside of the Pirros search tab

  2. Once you are looking at the detail: On the left hand tab bar, you can see a History tab

  3. The History tab will show you the historic versions of this details which you are able to overlay on top of each other and see the differences between versions

    1. Only Admins on Pirros can update existing details to create latest versions of the details

When you initiate a comparison, you'll see a color-coded overlay of the two details, along with their respective labels, making it easy to spot the differences at a glance.

PLEASE NOTE: For Revit 2021 details, we are unable to color code the details due to Revit's API change. So for those views, it will not be color coded and it will be more difficult to tell exactly what changed from version to version.

Comparing Similar Details

If there are similar details across projects inside of Pirros, our system will automatically group these details together as Similar Details. On the search page, you will be able to see if there are similar details to the single view you are looking at. On the top left corner of the detail card, you can see a icon that shows you if there are similar details to this view.

If you click on the similar details button on the detail card, you will see into the multiple similar details from the different projects uploaded into Pirros. Here, you can select any two (2) views and click the compare button that comes up on the top right orange bar to overlay them.

After selecting two details to compare, you'll see a familiar color-coded overlay that highlights the differences between them, making it easy to spot variations at a glance.

PLEASE NOTE: For Revit 2021 details, we are unable to color code the details due to Revit's API change. So for those views, it will not be color coded and it will be more difficult to tell exactly what changed from version to version.
