Quick Start User Guide

Updated over 9 months ago

The first thing you'll want to do when you get invited to Pirros is:

An invite email will get sent to you from the [email protected] email address.

Your database should already be set up with your typical details and past project details that your administrators have chosen to include on Pirros.

Step one: Download the Revit Pirros Plugin

  1. Click on the top right button where you see you initials

  2. Click Revit Plugin

  3. Click Download and follow the steps of the installer to get the plugin installed onto Revit

Step Two: Search for Details on the Database

1. Go to the Detail Tab on Pirros on the top left

2. Here you will find all of your typical/vetted details and past project details that your administrators have chosen to upload onto Pirros

Typical Details: Use the "Typical Details" tab if you only want to search through standard/vetted details. Each vetted detail is labeled as "Typical Detail" in the database.

All Details: Use the "All Details" tab to search through all past project and typical details. If you are downloading a past project detail into a model, be sure to update it per new codes and standards.

3. Use the filters available on the left side of your screen to filter down to Revit version, detail type, tags, and any other project parameters that have been added by your administrators.

Step Three: Flag Details for Review

If you ever come across a typical detail that doesn’t follow the most up-to-date standards, you should flag that detail and state the issue you found. An admin at your firm will then see that flag, fix the detail, and update it on Pirros so everyone has the latest version.

To Flag a Detail:

  1. Open the detail you are reviewing and click the Flag Icon on the top right

  2. Write a comment on what needs to change in the detail

    1. You can even @ a specific user to get their eyes on it as well

  3. Administrators will get a notification of your flag and update the detail to be able to resolve the flag

Step Four: Request Details and Projects

If you don’t see an entire project or a specific detail on Pirros that you know exists and want to reference, you can submit a request to an admin to add it to the database.

Request a Project

  1. On the Projects tab on Pirros, click the top right button that says Request a Project

  2. Fill in a Request Note for why you want the project included onto Pirros and all the other parameters for the project including the Revit model and PDF Drawing Set to be approved and uploaded

  3. Wait for an administrator to approve your request and then you will get notified and see the project upload onto your database.

Step Five: Stashes

When starting to add details to a new project, create a project stash and add multiple details to it. After you’ve added your details to the stash, download the stash into your Revit model.

To add a group or multiple details to a project at once:

  1. Create a project stash

    1. Click the top right dropdown that says Stash

    2. Click Create a New Stash

    3. Give your stash a name and click save changes

      1. This will now be your "Active Stash" that you can add details into

  2. Add details to your active stash

    1. Search and select details to add to your active stash

    2. Click Stash

  3. Download the stash as a PDF to mark up and re-upload the markup file to the stash

  4. Share the stash with a draftsman

  5. The draftsman will download the stash into the Revit project model

  6. The draftsman will update the details in Revit per the markups

  7. Revit Model will be complete with details
