Customize Display Settings

Tune how detail cards, sheet cards, PDF exports, and the filter panel appear across your firm — admin-only, firm-wide preferences.

Display Settings let admins control how Pirros surfaces information across the firm — what fields show on detail and sheet cards, what ends up in PDF exports, the default sort for tags, and the order of filters on the Details and Families pages. Settings are firm-wide: once an admin saves a change, every user in the firm sees the update on their next page load.

Prerequisite: You need the Edit Firm Settings permission (admin-level). Members can view the page but the controls are disabled.

Where to Find It

Settings → Display.

Default Filter Order

Drag the filter chips to set the order they appear on the Details page filter panel. If the Families add-on is enabled, a second column lets you order the Families filter panel independently.

For Details, the orderable filters are Detail Tags, Detail Type, and Revit Version. For Families, they are Family Tags, Family Category, and Revit Version. Reordering applies immediately — no save button.

Filter and Sort — Tag Sort

Choose how tags are sorted inside the filter panel:

  • Count — most-used tags appear first. Best when your team is searching for the most common conditions.

  • Alphabetical (A-Z) — tags listed alphabetically. Best when team members are looking for a specific tag by name.

Card Layout

Control what shows on detail and sheet cards in the grid view. Each card type (Detail and Sheet) has three configurable slots:

  • Primary Title — large text at the top of the card.

  • Secondary Text — smaller text below the primary title.

  • Project Title — the project-context line on the card.

Available field options include Title on Sheet, View Name, Sheet Name, Detail / Sheet Number, Project Name, and Project Number. Use the Preview panel to the right of each control to see how cards will look after saving.

PDF Footer Layout

Choose which metadata fields appear in the footer of PDFs exported from Pirros. There are four footer slots — First / Second / Third / Fourth Field — each independently configured for Detail PDFs and Sheet PDFs.

Available fields: Title on Sheet, View Name, Sheet Name, Detail / Sheet Number, Project Name, Project Number, Scale, or None. Set a field to None to leave that slot blank. Use the Preview to confirm spacing before saving.

Tip: The four footer fields run in order across the bottom of every exported PDF, so think of them as a left-to-right strip rather than independent labels.

When Changes Take Effect

Card layout, filter order, and tag-sort changes apply on the next page load — anyone with the app open just needs to refresh their browser. PDF footer changes apply the next time a PDF is generated; previously exported PDFs are not re-rendered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can each user have their own card layout?

A: No. Display Settings are firm-wide so your team sees consistent information across every detail and sheet.

Q: Why doesn't the Families filter order section show up for my firm?

A: That section is only visible when the Families add-on is enabled. An admin can turn it on under Settings → Add-ons.

Q: Why are all the controls grayed out for me?

A: Editing Display Settings requires the Edit Firm Settings permission, which is admin-only. Ask your firm admin or whoever manages roles to grant it if you need to make changes.

Q: I changed a card layout option but my cards still look the same.

A: Refresh the page (a hard reload picks up the new firm settings). If they still don't change, confirm you're logged into the right workspace.
