When you download details from Pirros into Revit, two shared parameters are added to those views: PirrosID and PirrosInSync. These parameters are used by the Pirros plugin to track versioning and sync status.
Before delivering a model to a client or archiving it, you may want to remove these parameters.
Prerequisite: You need edit access to the Revit model. This is a model-level change, so coordinate with your team before proceeding.
How to Remove Pirros Parameters
Open the Revit model that contains Pirros-downloaded details
Go to Settings → About
Control + Alt click the Pirros logo
Navigate to the Tools tab
Click "Remove Pirros Parameter Metadata"
Save the model
What This Affects
PirrosID is the unique identifier linking each detail to its Pirros record. Removing it means the plugin can no longer match these details to the library — if you sync this model later, Pirros will treat the details as new uploads rather than updates
PirrosInSync tracks whether the local detail matches the Pirros version. Removing it has no functional impact beyond losing that status indicator
When to Remove Parameters
Before client delivery — clients don't need Pirros parameters in their models
Before archiving — if the project is complete and won't be synced again
Do NOT remove if you plan to continue syncing this model with Pirros, as it will cause duplicates on next sync
What Happens Next
After removing the parameters, the details remain in your model as normal Revit views. They are no longer connected to Pirros. The Pirros plugin will not recognize them for sync or update purposes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will removing Pirros parameters affect how the details look or print?
A: No. The parameters are metadata only — they do not affect the geometry, annotations, or appearance of any detail.
Q: Can I add the parameters back later?
A: Not automatically. If you need to reconnect details to Pirros, you would need to re-download them from the library, which creates new copies with fresh Pirros IDs.
Q: Do I need to remove parameters from every view individually?
A: No. Removing the shared parameters at the project level removes them from all views in the model at once.
